Volume 2 of Vignettes of the Jersey Central follows "The Big Little Railroad" through the turbulent 1960's, from Jersey City, NJ, to Bethlehem, PA. The CNJ's multiple-track mainline, used also by parent company Baltimore and Ohio, and sister company Reading, is featured being utilized by all three companies in Jersey City, Communipaw, Elizabethport, Elizabeth, Aldene, Cranford, Plainfield, Middlesex, and Bound Book. Other locations visited include Passaic Drawbridge, Brills Transfer, Bayway, Rahway, Phillipsburg, and Bethlehem. The CNJ's fleet of FM's, GEEPS, F's, Babyfaces, RS's Switchers, and SD-35's are aided by leased N&W F's and are seen along with Reading and short look at the Lehigh & Hudson River RR which ran over the CNJ from Bethlehem to Easton.
Volume 1 of Vignettes of the Jersey Central features steam and diesel action on the CNJ from Jersey City to Wilkes-Barre between 1948 and 1963.
